ULFA faction seeks full autonomy

Guwahati: The United Liberation Front of Asom (Pro-talk faction) has submitted an 18-point charter of demands to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to press for its key demand for full autonomy to Assam within the framework of the Constitution.

The charter of demands was presented on Thursday through Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi.For the coming Lok Sabha elections, the outfit has promised to extend moral support to those parties and candidates who would include in their poll manifesto an assurance on demand for full autonomy.

Other demands

The other demands included reservation of 70 per cent seats in the Assembly for indigenous people, introduction of dual citizenship, immediate release of four central committee leaders of the ULFA, sealing of the India-Bangladesh border to check illegal infiltration, detection and deportation of foreign nationals, and introduction of inter line permit.
