Police seize gelatine sticks, detonators

Tirupur: The police seized 100 gelatine sticks and 150 detonators from N. Maniyan (38) at Udumalpet near here on Thursday evening.

Police sources said Maniyan was arrested while he was transporting the explosive devices without license to a quarry on his motorbike.

The bike was intercepted by the police on suspicion during a routine vehicle check that they carried out at the place.

The accused was remanded to judicial custody under the Explosive Substances Act.
