Celebrations at Shivagiri

Bijapur: Shivagiri Vasant Vana where 85 feet tall statue of Lord Shiva, the second biggest in the country, has been installed by T.K. Patil Charitable Trust will celebrate Mahashivaratri utsav on a grand scale on Monday.

In a press release, trust president Basantkumar Patil stated that on Mahashivratri, rudrabhisheka will be performed at 4.30 a.m. and flowers will be offered to Lord Shiva every hour from 5.30 a.m. A procession will be taken out from Shri Siddeshwar temple at 3.30 p.m. and it will pass through Gandhi Chowk, Basaveshwar Circle, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Circle, Gol Gumbaz before culminating at Shivagiri Vasant Vana at 7.30 p.m. Immediately after that, from 7.30 p.m., cultural programmes will be presented by artistes Suresh Sugandi, Suma Biradar, Madhavanand and Suresh Shah.

Shri Shantamallikarjun Mahaswamiji will inaugurate the programme.
