Anil sparkles in RCC’s win

VIJAYAWADA: A century by R.P. Anil (106) was the highlight of Ranjeeth Cricket Club’s 271-run victory over New Cricket Club in the Guntur District Cricket Association ‘A’ division league for Annamraju Rukmabai and Annamraju Lakshmi Narasimha Trophy at Guntur on Saturday.

In another match, Guntur Cricket Club defeated Veterans Cricket Club by 171 runs.

The scores: GCC 280 for seven in 30 overs (Yasoda 88, V. Ashok 58, Srinivasa Rao three for 45) bt Veterans CC 109 in 27 overs (V. Ashok three for 10).

Ranjeeth CC 309 for eight in 35 overs (R.P. Anil 106, Siva Koti 77, R.P. Srikanth 72) bt New Cricket Club 38 in 14 overs (G.V. Sarat Babu four for 10).

Ramesh sizzles

Ch. Ramesh (153 runs, 15x4, 4x6) guided Andhra Blues Cricket Club to a 180-run victory over Welcome Cricket Club in the Krishna District Cricket Association Power League tournament at Vijayawada on Saturday.

In another match, South Central Railways defeated Everest Cricket Club by eight wickets.

Earlier, E. Trimurthy, secretary, Sports Board, Dr. NTR Health University, inaugurated the tournament.

The scores: Andhra Blues CC 315 for eight in 50 overs (Ch. Ramesh 153, T.K. Ganesh Kumar 39, T.K. Ayyappaswamy 39, A. Pallapu Raju three for 26) bt Welcome CC 130 in 32.1 overs (P. Prudhvi Manohar 51, T.K. Ganesh Kumar three for 22).

Everest CC 151 in 46.1 overs (G.N. Srinivas 73, Ch. Srikanth three for 22) lost to South Central Railways 152 for two in 24 overs (P. Shankar 66).
