BHUBANESWAR: New Delhi-based Ashok Art Gallery, established by Oriya artist Ashoak Nayak, has announced to host a week-long international art exhibition at the Lalit Kala Akademi’s Regional Centre commencing on Friday. The show would be the first of its kind for the State and would showcase works of 84 acclaimed artists - both veterans and the budding – from India, USA, Pakistan and The Netherlands, Nayak said. Oriya artists, settled in major cities have been invited to showcase their works for the people of their State, he added. The Gallery has emerged as one of the major centers of contemporary art with a collection of about 2,000 works by major artists, Nayak said. Besides, it has participated in four major international art events in recent months, he added. “Being an Oriya, it has been my mission to highlight the gifted Oriya artists in the national and international shows”, said the founder-director.
