Bishnoi to Hooda: seek fresh mandate

Ambala: Claiming that the ruling Congress has lost its credibility, Haryana Janhit Congress on Sunday asked Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda to seek fresh mandate of the people by going in for simultaneous Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in the State.

Addressing a rally near Ambala City, Haryana Janhit Congress President Kuldeep Bishnoi said that the Hooda government has lost the confidence of the people following its failure to fulfil the promises made during the last Assembly elections. “After four years of non-performance the government is pretending to be a well-wisher of the people, unethically offering sops to them with an eye on the coming general elections,” he alleged.

Claiming that the people can understand the motive behind this ploy, he said the “unethical” efforts of the Congress to woo the voters will not succeed. He also demanded a white paper from the Hooda Government on its recent announcement giving Rs.700 as old age pension to the elderly, saying it would benefit only a select few.

Later, talking to mediapersons, Mr. Bishnoi, who is the younger son of former Haryana Chief Minister Bhajan Lal, said his party is in favour of a separate SGPC for the Sikhs of Haryana. Replying to another question, he said that the doors for his elder brother former Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan alias Chand Mohammad had been shut both in his family as well as in the party. — PTI
