KOCHI: Delegates of the laity and leaders of religious communities in the Ernakulam-Angamaly Archdiocese have expressed anxiety over the recommendations made by the Kerala Law Reforms Commission which were against the moral order, human values, spiritual traditions and the Indian culture, said a statement here on Sunday. A resolution approved by the leaders of the lay and religious organisations under the Archdiocese who met at the St. Thomas Mount said that suicide and euthanasia were against human values. The Law Reforms Commission had also recommended making suicide legal and for discrimination against those who had more than two children. These recommendations were against the Indian Constitution itself, said the statement here. The statement also said that church property and wealth were administered by groups comprising the parish priests and lay members under the Canon Law.
