Bus pass racket busted CRIME NOTES

Bangalore: The Chennammana Kere Achchukattu police have busted a racket creating fake bus passes of Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) and arrested two persons in this connection. The police have identified the accused as H.L. Mandeep Lingaraju (24) of Reddy Building in Konappana Agrahara and Anand Kumar (25) of Suledanahalli of Kolar. Based on a credible information, the accused were arrested, the police said.

Baby found

A newborn that had been abandoned a few hours after delivery was found in a drainage in Ramachandrapuram near Srirampuram here on Saturday. The police said that the baby is now recovering in Vani Vilas Hospital.

“We are inquiring with hospitals in the vicinity to gather information on those who were admitted recently, though we cannot rule out the possibility of a woman from a different part of the city coming to Ramachandrapuram to abandon her unwanted child,” the police said.

A case has been registered. Interested persons can obtain information through 080 – 22942520, said the Srirampuram police.

Arrested

The Kalasipalyam police on Saturday arrested three persons who were allegedly stealing autorickshaws, and recovered six autorickshaws valued at Rs. 6 lakh from them.

Amjad Vajid Khan (35) of Kalasipalyam, A.S. Nadeem Syed Ibrahim (42) of A.V. Road in Kalasipalyam and N. Venkatapathi (30), who was staying on Old Post Office Road in Chikkaballapur, are the accused in the case.

The accused were allegedly involved in selling stolen vehicles by creating forged documents, said the police.

Recovered

Three persons said to be habitual offenders were arrested by Chennamanakere Achchukattu police and household articles and jewellery estimated at Rs. 2.5 lakh have been recovered.

Lingaraja (28) of Shimoga, Syed Basha (22) of Mysore and Kantharaja (33) from Kadirenahalli have been identified by the police as the accused who allegedly committed thefts in several parts of the Sate and were wanted in at least 25 thefts and robbery cases.
