Stalin distributes job orders

Staff Reporter

CHENNAI: Local Administration Minister M.K. Stalin on Sunday distributed appointment orders to 300 recruits of the Chennai Corporation.

Speaking at the function organised by the civic body to issue appointment orders, he said, “A total of 2,84,605 people have been offered jobs by the State government after May 13, 2006.”

The government was creating more jobs apart from filling vacancies in government departments, he said. The employees should keep in mind their social obligations as government servants, said Mr. Stalin.

Seniority

Some of the recruits were selected by the civic body with the help of the employment exchange on the basis of their seniority. Some of the selected employees had a long wait for the job.

Nearly 300 employees were given jobs on compassionate grounds.
