HYDERABAD: An aircraft of the Flytech Aviation Academy made an emergency landing on an open land off Almasguda village of Vanasthalipuram reportedly after it ran short of fuel on Monday evening.

The commercial trainee pilot, Ganesh, who had taken a solo flight did not sustain any injury, the Vanasthalipuram police said.

Ganesh took off in the Cessna aircraft for a sortie around 4.30 p.m. After the first sortie, he landed on the academy runway and was off on the second one.

After that, the trainee pilot went for a third sortie. But Ganesh soon made an emergency landing after noticing that the aircraft was running short of fuel, the police maintained.

The aircraft landed on the open land close to the fields, a kilometre from the academy campus at Gurramguda.

The Academy staff and the Vanasthalipuram police officials who rushed to the spot heaved a sigh of relief as the trainee pilot was safe.

The Cessna too was, fortunately, not damaged. The aircraft would be shifted to the academy on Tuesday, they said.
