Need for seat sharing worries TRS aspirants

Leaders making rounds to Delhi to meet KCR

SANGAREDDY: Worried about their political future in the wake of the formation of grand alliance and the party going into seat sharing with partners, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leaders aspiring for nomination to contest in the coming general elections are queuing up to New Delhi.

As party president K. Chandrasekhar Rao has been camping in New Delhi, many leaders from Medak have already gone there and made representations.

According to sources, not only leaders from Medak, but also those from other districts have gone to Delhi to meet the party president.

Asked to coordinate

Though the seat adjustment among the alliance partners has not been initiated yet, the TRS president has reportedly given the green signal to some party leaders to work it out in their respective constituencies.

Former Inspector-General of Police Chandrasekhar Reddy has been directed to work from Suryapet Assembly constituency in Nalgonda district while M. Yadagiri Reddy has been accorded green signal for the newly formed Palakurthi Assembly seat in Warangal district.

Some given assurance

“Many leaders are worried about the chances of getting ticket in the wake of grand alliance.

To bring pressure on the party president, many of them have come here. Some have been given the assurance,” a party leader told The Hindu.

Those who reportedly met Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao at New Delhi in the past few days included former Council member R. Satyanarayana, party’s State secretary Ch. Kranti Kiran, district unit president T. Raghunandana Rao, Nawaz Reddy, Subhash Reddy, P. Sanjeeva Rao and Beeraiaha Yadav.

“We will have to wait for five years if we lose the chance to contest and win the elections now. Hence we can not take a chance,” he said.
