Directive to residents on UGD

VISAKHAPATNAM: Residents of Jodugullapalem, Visalakshinagar and Dayalnagar in Ward 6 of the municipal corporation who are covered under Phase IV of the underground drainage scheme should connect outlets from individual houses.

Municipal Commissioner B. Sridhar said in a press release that separate sewerage and drainage systems were formed for the areas and letting off the water without connecting to them was punishable under the municipal acts concerned.

Punishment ranges from three months of imprisonment or imprisonment and a fine up to Rs.10,000.

For connecting the outlets from their houses, residents may contact the executive engineer, deputy executive engineer or the assistant executive engineer on 9848882588, 9848055158, 9912349468 or 2746672.
