Man stabbed, critical

New Delhi: A 22-year-old man was critically injured after he was allegedly stabbed by five assailants in South West Delhi, police said on Tuesday.

“Sunil Kumar, a resident of Kakrola village, was attacked by five persons near the MCD school in the village while he was returning home after distributing the invitation cards for his marriage on Monday evening,” they said.

Sunil, who was to be married on February 28, was returning home in his Santro car, when the assailants overtook him in another car and forced him to stop. They then attacked with some sharp-edged weapon, police added. The victim was rushed to nearby Ayushman Hospital in Dwarka from where he was referred to a private hospital in Saket. “He is undergoing the treatment but his condition is stated to be critical,” the police said.

Sunil’s family has alleged that his neighbour may be behind attack as he had an enmity with him over some issues, they said. -- PTI
