Chief Minister straining too much, say doctors
Special Correspondent
CHENNAI: Doctors have appealed to friends of Chief Minister M.Karunanidhi that they should urge him not to make harsh decisions such as going on fast when he was recovering from a major surgery.
In a statement here, they said that of the five stitches that were made after the surgery, two were removed on Monday. Three more would be removed on Wednesday. Only after this a decision would be taken on discharging him from hospital.
The Chief Minister required rest. But, he was constantly holding meetings with officials and Ministers on various issues. He was straining too much and this was cause for concern, they said.
Senior leaders expect the Chief Minister to be discharged on Thursday. They are even hopeful that he will attend the Assembly session on Friday.
