Refused to meet Advani?

Mumbai: Against the backdrop of some alleged strain between the Shiv Sena and the BJP ahead of the general elections, Sena supremo Bal Thackeray on Tuesday refused to meet the saffron party’s prime ministerial candidate L.K. Advani who was in the city in connection with a party function.

The Sena suggested that a meeting between the two leaders could not be fixed at short notice amid reports that Mr. Advani had expressed a desire to meet Mr. Thackeray. “We received intimation from the BJP that Mr. Advani, who was in the city to attend a function planned days earlier wanted to meet Mr. Thackeray,” Sena spokesperson Neelam Gorhe claimed. — PTI
