Good start by Services

VISAKHAPATNAM: Holder Services was off to a good start in its campaign in the 37th senior men’s National handball championship for the Wellfare Cup, beating Railways 30-18 in a super league match at the ZP High School ground, Gopalapatnam here on Tuesday.

While Services and runner-up Chhattisgarh were given a direct entry, Haryana, Punjab, Railways, Assam, Delhi and Karnataka qualified for the super league from the league phase.

The eight super league teams were divided into two pools and the topper of each pool will play the final on February 26.

In other super league matches, Punjab beat Haryana 41-21 and Delhi defeated Assam 26-16. — Special Correspondent
