Church festival begins

KOLLAM: The 317th feast of Mar Anthraos Bava and the annual convention of the Kallada Saint Mary’s Orthodox Syrian Church, that began on February 22, will conclude on March 3. A retreat in connection with the festival will be held from 10 a.m. on Friday.

The holy tri-mass will be celebrated at 8.30 a.m. on Saturday with the Metropolitan Yuhanon Mar Milithios as chief celebrant. Yakoob Mar Iraenios would be the chief celebrant on Sunday. A rasa will be held at 4 p.m. on March 2 and at 3 p.m. on March 3.

A public meeting in connection with the festival will begin at 4.30 p.m. on March 3. The meeting will be inaugurated by Transport Minister Mathew T. Thomas and Nair Service Society general secretary P.K. Narayana Panicker will deliver the keynote address.
