Two persons arrested for murder

VANIYAMBADI: Two persons were arrested on charges of murdering a man at a temple festival in Mettupalayam near here on Tuesday night.

According to police, Shankar (28) borrowed Rs. 5,000 from Arumugam (29) and did not return the money. On Tuesday, Shankar, with a few more persons, attacked Arumugam with deadly weapons. Kumar, Shankar’s brothers Vijayan and Mohan, and Vadivel were among the attackers. Arumugam was admitted to Government Hospital at Vaniyambadi, where he died. Police arrested Shankar and Kumar and are on the lookout for the others.
