Over 17 lakh to take Inter examination

Exam schedule extends from March 4 to 24


Nearly 92 flying squads, 115 sitting squads constituted

Section 144 to be promulgated at exam centres


HYDERABAD: More than 17 lakh candidates will appear for the Intermediate public examination beginning from March 4 and ending on March 24. The exam would be held from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

A statement from the Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) said that nearly two lakh candidates will take the second -year exam privately while 7.03 lakh are regular students. About 8.60 lakh students are appearing for the first year examination. This year 9,338 candidates will take the bridge course to become eligible for the bio-technology course.

The BIE has identified 320 centres as problematic and a minimum of 115 sitting squads apart from a minimum 92 flying squads have been constituted to prevent malpractices all over the State.

All the Regional Inspection Officers have been directed to ensure provision of furniture, electricity, toilets and medical help at all centres.

Moreover, the police has also been requested to promulgate Section 144 outside the examination centres.

The APSRTC authorities have been asked to arrange bus services from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. on all the examination days for the convenience of students.

Hall-tickets

Candidates can collect the hall-tickets from the concerned principals. Officials also advised the students to locate the examination centre well in advance to avoid inconvenience.

A control room has been established at Hyderabad (040-24601010).

Parents and students can also contact the Joint Secretary (Exams-I) on 98483-09007, Joint Secretary (Exams-II) on 98480-18289 and Joint Secretary (Vocational) on 98488-03114 for any help. Students can also contact their concerned RIOs for assistance.
