RAMANATHAPURAM: A fisherman of Thangatchimadam was seriously injured when the Sri Lankan Navy allegedly opened fire on a fishing boat on Wednesday. Sources said the incident was reportedly occurred near Kachchativu. Soosai Anthony (28) son of Arulanandam, who received bullet injury on his right hand, was brought to the shore and admitted to the Rameswaram GH. As his condition was stated to be serious he was referred to the Ramanathapuram hospital. Sources added that a few more fishermen were also injured when the naval personnel attacked them with iron pipe and other materials.
