B.Tech student killed in accident

HYDERABAD: A B.Tech second-year student was killed and his friend sustained injuries after the motorcycle on which they were travelling was hit by a speeding lorry at Dundigal on Wednesday afternoon. They were residents of Jeedimetla.

The students – K. Avinash Reddy (19) and Prem Kumar (19) – were returning home from the MLR engineering college when the lorry driver, who is absconding, drove the vehicle in a negligent manner and rammed into them resulting in grievous injuries. While Reddy died on the spot, Kumar was shifted to a private hospital where his condition is stated to be critical, police said.

A manhunt has been launched to nab the driver.

Motorcyclist killed

In a separate incident, a motorcyclist was crushed to death under the wheels of an RTC bus at I.S. Sadan in Saidabad on Tuesday. The victim, Shailender Reddy (30) was a resident of Bairamalguda, according to police.
