Assistance worth Rs. 38.43 lakh distributed

KRISHNAGIRI: Collector V.K. Shanmugam distributed Rs. 38.43 lakh worth of welfare assistance to 162 beneficiaries at the special mass contact programme held at Pannanthur in Pochampalli block on Wednesday, says a release from the collectorate.
Prior to this programme, 71 petitions were received from Pannanthur village.
The petitions were accepted and some of the petitioners were distributed pattas or welfare assistance.
During the mass contact programme, as many as 146 people from this village and surrounding villages have submitted their petitions to the Collector.
The Collector directed the district level officials to take action on the petitions immediately.
He also distributed free house site pattas to 71 people, widow pension to 20, and financial assistance to 39 farm labourers.
Total beneficiaries under various schemes were around 162.
As part of this programme, a mini exhibition was arranged at the venue under the Department of Information and Public Relations, Integrated Child Development Scheme, Social Welfare Department and Health Department.
Pochampalli Tahsildhar P. Subramani welcomed the gathering. Kaveripattinam Union Chairman Adhi Megendran, Pannanthur Panchayat President Vajjiram spoke at the camp.
