Meet on material processing technology

Kovilpatti: The Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Society for Manufacturing Engineers of National Engineering College, organised an international conference on “Recent advances in material processing technology” here on Wednesday.

A. Baskara Narayana, Scientific Secretary and Director, SCP/ FMO, ISRO, Bangalore, in his inaugural address explained how research could bring about significant developments in all fields.

Mahesh Chaturvedi, Professor, Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, University of Manitoba, Canada, and Takayuki Kitamura, Professor, Vice President Kyoto University, Japan, spoke. M.N. Islam, Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Curtin University of Technology, West Australia, delivered the keynote address. V. Kailas and Satish, Professors from IIS, Bangalore, delivered a lecture on “friction stir welding.”

K. R.Arunachalam, management committee member, presided. N. S. Marimuthu, Principal, welcomed. K. Ramasamy, Chairman, Chennammal Ramasamy, Correspondent, and Chockalingam, Director, were present.
