Two ULFA men killed in Assam encounter

Guwahati: Two hardcore militants of the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) including the operational commander of Bravo company of the outfit’s 28 Battalion were killed in an encounter with a team of police and the CPRF at Balijan village under Jengraimukh police station of Majuli on Thursday.

Deputy Inspector-General of Police (Eastern Range) L.R. Bisnoi told The Hindu that there were five ULFA militants of whom two were killed while the other three managed to escape. The gun battle lasted for about 45 minutes.
