‘Jagaran’ for movies

Only a few festivals go without public display of religiosity.

Serpentine queues outside the temples on Mahasivaratri is a known and regular phenomenon. However, late-risers missed another amusing sight of devotion on Tuesday when morning walkers at many places came across crowded avenues and traffic snarls. Reas on - at about 6 a.m., people with bleary eyes and puffed faces started pouring out of cinema halls after a night of ‘Jagaran’. Movie theatres played an additional show from 3 a.m. to 6 a.m. on the occasion.
