New D-G of Rajasthan Police

JAIPUR: Harish Chandra Meena – an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the 1976 batch – took over as the new Director-General of Police of Rajasthan on Sunday following the transfer of previous DGP K.S. Bains to the Anti-Corruption Bureau.

Mr. Meena was earlier Director-General, Home Guards and Civil Defence. He is a recipient of the President’s Police Medal for his distinguished services in 2002 and Police Medal in 1996.

Mr. Meena was given the guard of honour at the Police Headquarters here, where he arrived on Sunday morning to take charge from the outgoing DGP. Additional Director-General, Police Intelligence, M.K. Devrajan, and senior police officers were present.
