Pumps cleared for Yellampalli

HYDERABAD: A team of engineers of the State which visited Japan, led by M.K. Rahaman, engineer-in-chief, Irrigation, has cleared a long-pending plan to import massive pumps worth about Rs. 100 crore required by Yellampalli project in Karimnagar district. An official said the team stayed in Japan for a week till February 28 and undertook thorough inspections and tests, verifying the quality and reliability of the pumps before giving the green signal. This was to ward off any possible criticism by political parties.
