TTD panel to negotiate with bidders

Panel to submit report to TTD to facilitate final nod

TTD to set up a high-security workshop for work

TIRUPATI: The Tirumala-Tirupati Devasthanams Trust Board has recently constituted a three-member expert committee to negotiate with the companies which have participated in the bid for the execution of the multi-crore project of providing gold plating to the interiors of the sanctum sanctorum of the hill temple of Lord Venkateswara.

Bids have already come in from different places for the execution of the scheme christened by the TTD as ‘Ananda Nilayam Anantha Swarnamayam Scheme’.

The Board which had an in-depth discussion on the scheme has put in place the expert committee which after negotiations with the bidders would submit a report to the Board to facilitate a final decision.

It may be mentioned here that donations in the form of gold and cash are already pouring into the TTD from devotees, philanthropists, trusts. To the extent possible, the TTD is trying to complete the project with the help of the gold and cash received as donations from the public/donors without dipping its fingers into the TTD’s gold reserves.

In view of the enormous gold that is expected to go into the work, the TTD would be setting up a high-security workshop at Tirumala on the premises of its museum where expert craftsmen would chisel out the gold plating to be fitted on to the interior walls of sanctum.

Yatri Nivas

Another important resolution of the board at its last meeting was to provide financial assistance of Rs.10 lakh for the construction of Yatri Nivas in the Himalaya Sri Venkateswaraswamy Temple, Dharasu, Uttaranchal for the benefit of the visiting devotees.
