Staff Reporter
CHENNAI: The Hindu will organise a host of events to commemorate International Women’s Day on March 8.
The highlight of the event is ‘Heels on wheels,’ a treasure hunt for women who could take part in teams of two to four in cars. The registration fee for the event is Rs.500 per team and 50 per cent of the value could be redeemed at the Food Court at Chennai Citi Centre.
Interested participants could call 96000 85522 or 97911 90003. As many as 60 teams are expected to participate. Registrations would be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Following the treasure hunt, the remaining activities will be held at the Chennai Citi Centre atrium from 2 p.m. These events would be open to all women. All women walking in with their grandmother and mother would be recognised as the ‘three roses of the family.”
Besides a range of activities such as nail art, hair braiding and mehandi, several on-the-spot contests have also been planned. The top three winners would take home loads of prizes, apart from the cash prize awarded by The Hindu.
The event is sponsored by Butterfly, while Green Trends and Samsung are the co-sponsors. Three Roses Mind Sharp, Radio One and Citi Centre are the beverage, radio and venue partners respectively.
