Rewards for information on missing children

NEW DELHI: Police Commissioner Y. S. Dadwal has announced a reward of Rs.5,000 for any fruitful information on each of 23 missing or abducted persons in the Capital, including 11 children.

Among those missing is four-year-old Sachin, a resident of Madipur village in West Delhi, who was allegedly abducted by unknown persons in October 2007. Five-year-old Sultana went missing from near Sis Ganj Gurdwara in the Chandni Chowk area of the Walled City in August 2007.

Ten-year-old Rohit, a resident of South Moti Bagh, went missing in July 2008.

Rewards have been announced seeking information on the whereabouts of seven girls in all.

The police claim to have traced over 95 per cent of the missing children in the 0-8 years age group so far; 90 per cent in the 8-12 years age group; and more than 80 per cent of those missing in the 12-18 years age group.
