Mandal-level teams to enforce poll code

Audit officers to check expenditure of candidates

Parties told to have persons with clean record as agents


KARIMNAGAR: Collector Sandeep Kumar Sultania has called upon all the political parties to strictly follow the model code of conduct in the ensuing general elections in the district.

Briefing newsmen about the implementation of the code of conduct here on Tuesday, he said that they had constituted mandal-level teams headed by tahsildars and police officials to strictly implement the code.

He said that the mandal-level teams would tour the respective mandals to ensure implementation of the code and submit daily reports to the district model code of conduct team headed by District Panchayat Officer.

He said that in the municipalities, the respective Municipal Commissioners would enforce the code by removing the hoardings, banners, party flags, etc. He said that they had also appointed audit officers for each Assembly segment for closely checking the expenditure of candidates in the elections.

He also appealed to all the government officials to keep away from political parties, meetings, etc. Superintendent of Police Vikram Singh Mann appealed to the political parties to appoint polling agents, who have clean record and not entertain criminals. He said that the pending non-bailable warrants (NBW) would be executed on a priority basis in the district. The police was making the necessary security arrangements and would submit report for securing additional forces to the district for election bandobust, Mr. Mann said.
