Third Front to meet near Tumkur on

March 12

Representatives of Left parties will also be present


HASSAN: H.K. Javare Gowda, former MP and president of the Hassan district unit of the Janata Dal (Secular), has said that the former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda will be the party’s candidate for the Lok Sabha elections from Hassan. He said the party was confident of a victory.

Speaking to The Hindu here on Tuesday, Mr. Javare Gowda said leaders of the Janata Dal (S) would work together to ensure a victory.

He said members of the Third Front would meet near Tumkur on March 12. “We have invited the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and Telugu Desam Party president Chandrababu Naidu, Telangana Rashtra Samiti president T.R. Chandrasekhar, All-India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam president J. Jayalalithaa and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati to participate.

Mr. Javare Gowda said the Left parties that were the “natural allies” of the Third Front would also be present.
