Train stoppage at Morappur

KRISHNAGIRI: Train No. 2685 Chennai-Mangalore super-fast express will stop at Morappur station from March 1, according to Rail Passengers Welfare Association.

President D.P. Sridhar told The Hindu that this was a long pending demand of the association.

He said the train will reach Morappur via Katpadi on Monday, Wednesday and Friday’s at 8.41 p.m. and leave at 8.42 p.m. and reach Mangalore next day morning 9 a.m.

In the return direction, the Train No. 2686 Mangalore-Chennai super fast express will starts from Mangalore on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 4 p.m. and reach Morappur on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 3.28 a.m. and leave at 3.29 a.m. and reach Chennai at 8 a.m. via Katpadi.

This train to Mangalore operated via Katpadi, Morappur, Salem, Tirupur, Pothanur. On test basis this train will stop at Morappur station from March 1 to August 31.

Patronage

The extension would be made permanent depending upon the public patronage.
