The city police have taken into custody Abdul Hussain on charges of waylaying and robbing Periasamy, 43, of Tiruchi, of 3 kg gold late on Monday night at Variety Hall Road.

The police said, Abdul Hussain along with two others waylaid Periasamy and robbed of gold worth Rs. 45.80 lakh.

People apprehended Abdul Hussain and handed him over to the police. Hunt is on for the other two.
