Pranab sees bid to divert attention

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday condemned efforts by a section in Pakistan to hint at India’s hand in the attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore.

In a fleeting interaction with journalists, Mr. Mukherjee said no purpose would be served by diverting attention in this manner.

Asked for New Delhi’s response to the charge of the Lahore Commissioner in this regard, the Minister asserted that India had nothing to do with it. Till the infrastructure and facilities available to terrorists in Pakistan were dismantled this could happen again, he said.
