Advani set to re-contest from Gandhinagar constituency

Manas Dasgupta

AHMEDABAD: The Gujarat BJP parliamentary committee has finalised candidates for the 26 Lok Sabha seats in the State.

The prime ministerial candidate, L.K. Advani, is all set to re-contest from Gandhinagar, despite changes in the constituency following delimitation.

According to BJP spokesman Vijay Rupani, the board has finalised a panel of names for the remaining 25 constituencies and the party is giving “final touches” to the list. Chief Minister Narendra Modi and State president Purshottam Rupala would leave for Delhi with the list around March 10.

Mr. Rupani said the panel was finalised from over 700 applications.
