Medkekar moves up

HYDERABAD: Aditya Medkekar of Karnataka defeated Hazari J. Akbar of Punjab 6-4, 6-2 in the men’s singles second round of the Moin-ud-Dowla AITA All India men’s ranking tennis tournament being organised by Secunderabad Club on its premises here on Tuesday.

Nidhi in semifinals

S. Nidhi blanked Sama Sathwik 6-0 in the girls’ under-10 singles of the YMCA Open tennis tournament for sub-juniors on its premises at Narayanaguda here.

Victory PG posts win

Victory Playground recorded a 56-42 win over Nizam Basketball Academy in the Hyderabad District annual basketball championship here.

SAAP counselling

Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh stated that all the coaches working under contract or on consolidated pay of the 1993 and 1999 batches and who have completed three years at their present place of posting, are to report to the office on March 17 for counselling at Lal Bahadur Stadium (Hyderabad). For details, the coaches may contact the concerned deputy director.
