Three persons killed in separate accidents

TIRUPATTUR: Three persons were killed in separate accidents at Vaniyambadi, Ambur and Jolarpet since Tuesday evening.

At 10 p.m. on Tuesday, a two-wheeler rider, Jameel (39), was fatally knocked down by an unknown vehicle at Kalandhara near Vaniyambadi. He sustained head injury and died on the spot.

Police said Jameel was a resident of Yelagiri Hills near Tirupattur.

He was going from Vaniyambadi to Yelagiri Hills when the accident took place.

In another accident, Senthil (32) of Vadaputhupattu, was knocked down from his two-wheeler by an unknown vehicle at Pachaikuppam bridge.

He sustained grievous injuries and died while being taken to Government Hospital at Ambur. Senthil worked in a tannery at Chennai and had come to his native village on leave. He was travelling to Ambur when the accident took place, police said.

On Wednesday, Allahbaksh (30) of Erikodi, Tirupattur, was run over by a car at Palnangkuppam, when he tried to cross the road.

He died on the spot. The body was sent to Government Hospital at Tirupattur for post-mortem.
