MYSORE: Anytime payment of telephone bills of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) was launched here on Wednesday with the inauguration of a centre at BSNL’s customer service centre on Sayyaji Rao Road here.

SPML Technologies Limited, which provided Any Time Payment (ATP) machine to Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Company (CESC) for payment of electricity bills, has provided the machine to BSNL.

BSNL General Manager S.R. Chandran inaugurated the machine and expressed confidence that the facility would benefit BSNL customers.

BSNL landline, Cellone mobile and broadband subscribers can pay their bills through this facility.

BOOM

T.S. Guruprasad, Head (Administration), SPML, Bangalore, told The Hindu that the machine had been installed on Build, Own, Operate and Maintain (BOOM) basis.

The machine would work round the clock and was “self-operative”. However, an operator would be available at the centre to assist customers. Bills could be paid in cash or by cheque.

The machine would issue receipt on payment of the bill. The machine had an inbuilt sensor which would reject fake notes, he said.
