Chitradurga: Government doctors have appealed to people not to resort to violence against medical practitioners. Instead a case should instead be registered if there was cause for complaint so that the law takes its own course. Speaking at a press conference here on Tuesday, members of the Karnataka State Government Doctors’ Association said their appeal was with reference to a case in which some people recently manhandled S.R. Mahalingappa, a government doctor in Hiriyur taluk, for alleged negligence. The association members have urged the Government to arrest those responsible immediately. Dr. Mahalingappa, who was present, said that on February 23, some people assaulted him after a nine-year-old boy died in hospital. Association State president H.S. Ravindra said that despite lodging a police complaint, no arrests had been made.
