Lahore attack

It is shocking to learn that the gunmen who attacked the Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore made a cool getaway with no one making an effort to apprehend them. The footage aired by Pakistani television channels clearly exposed the security failure.

The embarrassment that the incident has caused Pakistan will be remembered for a long time. Unless it acts with resolve to root out terrorism, action against Pakistan could be the only option left.

D. Muralikrishna,

Chennai

The terror attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team proved that Pakistan is in no position to host any sporting event. It has no control over its army or the fundamentalist forces, which are actually two faces of the same coin. For years, India has suffered the wounds of active terrorism, which is now harming the international citizen. If India is to survive and exist beside Pakistan, it should be vigilant and alive to the threat of cross-border terror.

D.K. Jyothishmathi Prasad Rao,

Karimnagar

Time and again, it has been proved that Pakistan has neither the power nor the will to contain terrorism on its soil. It is time it was isolated from the rest of the world and all possible sanctions imposed on it.

D.R. Venkatesh,

Chennai

During Pervez Musharraf’s reign, the world argued that he was the root cause of all problems in Pakistan. It expected the democratically elected government to bring the state back on track. But it is now clear that things have gone from bad to worse.

Thejus Joseph Jose,

Kottayam

The Lahore attack has proved that Pakistan has completely fallen into the hands of terrorists and that its government has lost its battle against terrorism. It was a mistake on the part of Sri Lankan cricketers and organisers to agree to play in a terror-infested country.

P. Senthil Saravana Durai,

Tuticorin
