Ravi slams five
NEW DELHI: Five goals by Ravi Rathore powered Cavalry Red to an 8 1/2 goals to 7 victory over Jindal Steel and Power in a league match of the Sawai Man Singh Gold Vase polo tournament at the Jaipur Polo ground here on Thursday.
Tarun Sirohi scored the other three goals for the Cavalry team that had started with a half goal advantage on handicap. Gonzalo Bordieu (3), Simran Shergill (2), Bhawani Singh Kalvi and Mahesh Sharma scored for the loser.
In another match, Army Service Corps (ASC)/Artillery defeated Cavalry Black 4 1/2 goals to 3. Dhruvpal Godara (2) and J. S. Shekhawat scored the goals for the winner that had started with a 1-1/2 goal handicap advantage. Atul Gupta, Navjit Sandhu and Sameer Chaudhary scored for the loser. — Special Correspondent
