TIRUCHI: The police have announced the following traffic diversions in the City and its outskirts on March 8 and 9 in view of the annual Poochorithal function of the Samayapuram Sri Mariamman Temple. All passenger and goods vehicles proceeding towards Chennai from Tiruchi will be diverted at Chathram Bus Stand to go via Check Post 7, Jeeyapuram, Kulithalai, Musiri, Thuraiyur and Perambalur to reach the Tiruchi-Chennai National Highway. Vehicles from Thanjavur will be diverted at Ariyamangalam to go via Gandhi Market, Mainguard Gate, Chathram Bus Stand, Check Post 7, Jeeyapuram, Kulithalai, Musiri, Thuraiyur and Perambalur. Vehicles from Pudukottai will be diverted at TVS Tollgate, Head Post Office Traffic Island, Puthur Four Road Junction, Thillai Nagar, Karur By-pass Road to touch Check Post 7, Jeeyapuram, Kulithalai, Musiri, Thuraiyur and Perambalur. Vehicles from Dindigul National Highway will be diverted at Ponnagar to go via Peria Milaguparai, MGR Statue, Puthur Four Road Junction, Thillai Nagar Main Road, Karur By-pass Road, Check Post 7 and to take the same route notified for vehicles from other destinations. Vehicles from Madurai will be diverted at the Junction Railway Bridge to go via Peria Milaguparai, Puthur Four Road Junction, Thillai Nagar, Karur By-pass Road and Check Post 7. Passenger vehicles proceeding to Tiruchi, Pudukottai, Thanjavur, Dindigul and Madurai from Chennai will be diverted at Siruganur Cross Road to go via Thuvarankurichi, Lalgudi, No.1 Tollgate and Ariyamangalam Palpannai Traffic Island. All goods vehicles heading on these routes will be diverted at Perambalur to go via Thuraiyur, Musiri, Kulithalai, Jeeyapuram, Check Post 7 and Chathram Bus Stand in the City.
