CHENNAI: A woman who tried to cheat a couple by attempting to sell fake jewellery was arrested on Thursday.

Police said the accused, B. Kuppammal (45) of Katpadi, had approached Shanthi (34) of Tiruvottiyur and her husband Kumar (40) and offered to sell a five-sovereign gold chain. Suspecting foul play, Kumar alerted the police control room.
