Jilted lover attacks girl with boiling oil

Kakinada: In a shocking incident, an Intermediate student, on Wednesday night, threw boiling oil on the face of a girl for spurning his love.

According to the police, G. Raghu Babu, 20, claimed to be in love with Chinnari. Both were students of a private college in Pithapuram. Unable to bear his harassment, Chinnari discontinued her studies. On March 1, Babu’s parents sought Chinnari’s hand for their son. However, the girl rejected the proposal. An enraged Babu poured hot oil on the girl while she was asleep. Chinnari was rushed to Prathipadu PHC where she is stated to be out of danger.

Babu is at large. The Gollaprolu police are investigating.
