Bonanza for BSNL landline customers

NEW DELHI: In a major bonanza to its landline subscribers, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has announced a steep cut in the local and STD call rates by as much as 50 per cent.

The landline customers, who are paying Rs. 1.20 a minute, can now call anywhere in the country at 60 paise a minute, while the rural customers, who are paying 80 paise a minute, can now call at 40 paise a minute. Moreover, all BSNL wireline customers will be given STD facility without any additional security deposit. The new tariffs have been made effective across India from March 1.
