Jamalapuram Kesava Rao centenary fete

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Freedom Fighters Organisation will organise the centenary celebration of late Sardar Jamalapuram Kesava Rao, a prominent Congress leader in the erstwhile Hyderabad State, who played a key role in liberation of Hyderabad State, at Gandhi Bhavan on March 9.

General secretary of the organisation Boggarapu Sitaramaiah said here on Thursday that Kesava Rao became popular as ‘Iron Man of Hyderabad State’ by leading the ‘Satyagaraha’ movement against the Nizam’s rule and braving imprisonment several times.

Apart from prominent leaders from all parties, youth were being invited for the centenary celebrations, the organisers said.
