SBT schemes for women

Thiruvananthapuram: A.K. Jagannathan, Managing Director, State Bank of Travancore (SBT), has said that the bank will always be in the forefront of attempts to make women financially and socially empowered.

He was presiding over a meeting organised by the bank in connection with International Women’s Day at which two products specially designed for women were launched by Sarada Muraleedharan, Director, Kudumbasree Mission. ‘SBT Prathibha’ is a new savings deposit scheme and ‘SBT MahilaVikas’ a loan scheme at 8 per cent interest.

Ms. Muraleedharan welcomed the bank’s decision to join the projects of the Kudumbasree, aimed at eradicating poverty among women and making them socially and financially independent. Mathur K. Nanjunda, General Manager, SBT, felicitated.
