Let’s work as a team, says CP

VIJAYAWADA: Stressing the need for close coordination among the officials of various departments, Police Commissioner K.V. Rajendranath Reddy on Saturday said plans were afoot to utilise the services of retired personnel from the Army and the NCC and the senior cadets of the NCC for election duty.

Reviewing the arrangements for the general elections with police personnel, Mr. Reddy asked the staff to identify sensitive areas under their respective police stations and maintain a separate register to record election-related complaints. He asked the police to monitor the movements of the history-sheeters.

Meanwhile, the police registered bind-over cases against 27 persons, of whom seven were from One-Town police station limits, eight each from the Two-Town police station and Krishnalanka police station limits and four from the Machavaram police station limits.
