HAL downs Postal
Bangalore: Defending champion HAL defeated Postal 1-0 in a BDFA super division league match at the Football Stadium here on Sunday.
Karthikeyan scored in the eighth minute of a pass from the Xavier Vijaykumar-Satish combine as HAL snatched an early lead and held on to it in a close tussle.
However, there was an unsavoury incident in the closing stages as Postal’s Sreenivasan and HAL’s Naveen Babu quarrelled and referee Elangovan flashed the red card at both the players.
Earlier Tony’s 84th minute strike helped Students Union hold Nationals to a 1-1 draw in the ‘A’ division league. Vikram scored for Nationals in the 53rd minute.
